Men's Compression Socks: Over-the-Calf Support for Running, Hiking & Travel

When you're living an active life, a little extra support goes a long way. Cloudline men's compression socks are engineered with moderate graduated compression to improve circulation, reduce muscle fatigue, and speed up recovery, whether you're mid-run, mid-hike, or mid-flight.

Built over-the-calf with premium merino wool, these compression socks deliver the performance benefits you'd expect from a technical sock with the natural comfort of merino fiber. Moisture-wicking properties keep feet dry during high-output activities, while natural odor resistance means you can wear them longer without worry. The moderate compression level makes them ideal for long-distance running, all-day hiking, extended travel, and active recovery at home.

Knit in the USA and backed by the Cloudline lifetime guarantee, because your legs work hard enough already.

Men's Compression Socks FAQ

Which men's compression sock should I choose?

All three styles have the same 15 mmHg graduated compression, over-the-calf height and merino blend, so the choice comes down to cushion and look. The Ultralight is our thinnest and coolest pair. The Light Cushion adds padding underfoot for long days and rocky trails. The Retro is the Ultralight with a retro-inspired pattern.

What's the difference between Ultralight and Light Cushion compression socks?

Ultralight has a thin knit all over, so it breathes best and fits easily in snug running shoes. Light Cushion has extra padding under the foot, which helps on long hikes, hard pavement and all-day shifts. If your feet run hot or you mostly run, start with Ultralight. If your feet get sore by the end of the day, go with Light Cushion.

Do all of your compression socks have the same compression level?

Yes. Every Cloudline compression sock has 15 mmHg of moderate, graduated compression, snuggest at the ankle and easing up the calf. That level is made for everyday wear, sport and travel. It isn't a medical-grade fit, so if a doctor has prescribed a specific level, check with them first.

Who are merino compression socks good for?

They're popular with runners and hikers who want less leg fatigue, travelers on long flights and drives, and anyone who works on their feet all day, from construction and warehouse work to nursing. They also work well after a hard effort when your legs need to recover.

Why merino wool instead of regular nylon compression socks?

Most compression socks are all synthetic, which can trap heat and hold odor. Ours are 56% merino wool, 29% nylon and 15% spandex. The merino wicks moisture, resists odor and stays soft against your skin, so you can wear them all day or for several days on the trail. The nylon and spandex give the support and help them hold their shape.

Which sizes do the men's compression socks come in?

Sizes follow your US men's shoe size: Medium 6 to 8.5, Large 9 to 11.5 and X-Large 12 to 14.5. Small fits youth sizes 3 to 5.5, which works for kids and smaller feet. See our size guide for help between sizes.
