As one of the greatest coaches in the history of football, Lombardi knew what it took to reach the top. Spring is the time of year to start working towards your summer adventure goals. Get ready for that long hike with shorter spring hikes, prep for a backpacking trip by taking a loaded pack on a few prep hikes, or putting in the time trail running so you can complete the Ultra you've been dreaming of.

This is one of our favorite quotes, because what good are all the wonders of civilization if you aren't having any fun, and we have the most fun when we are outside adventuring. Spring is a great time to add some adventure to your routine. Take up a new hobby or try a new outdoor endeavor and you will be sure to have an adventure filled spring and summer.
"Without adventure civilization is in full decay." - Alfred North Whitehead
We love hiking long miles to reach the top of a mountain with an epic view, but really we usually are only at the top for a fraction of the hike. The long miles leading to the destination are where we make our best memories, share the best stories, and see the most wildlife. Spring is a great time to enjoy every mile of a hike, because the mountains begin to fill with wildflowers and wildlife, giving you plenty to enjoy on the way to the mountain top.
"Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness & growth occurs while you are climbing it." - Andy Rooney

They are constantly doing what they love and that involves adventures like thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2011, living in their van for months at a time, spending the summer guiding kids on outdoor adventures at summer camps, writing for Backpacker's Magazine, and in 2015 they thru-hiked New Zealand's long trail, Te Araroa.
Beginning May 1st, 2017 the Lavigne's will be hitting the road in their camper van to speak about their thru-hike of Te Araroa at 31 events across the country.
